Don’t assume that recruiting will be taken care of by your child’s coach. Coaches do the best they can, but they are busy people and don’t have the time to put into recruiting that each athlete deserves. Help your child develop a short list of prospective colleges, consult him or her in contacting college coaches, and accompany him or her in visiting colleges.
