The University of the South, also known as Sewanee, is a four-year, residential liberal arts college founded 1857 and is affiliated with the Episcopal Church.

The pursuit of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, in close community and in full freedom of inquiry, and enlightened by Christian faith, to prepare students to search for truth, to seek justice for all, to preserve liberty under law, and to love and serve God and humanity.

Sewanee, Tennessee; 50 miles west of Chattanooga and 90 miles southeast of Nashville.
