Cornell offers 19 intercollegiate sports (10 men’s) that compete in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC), comprised exclusively of private colleges in Iowa. Cornell ranks 9th among Division III schools in the number of NCAA Postgraduate Scholars, with 25 awardees. The centerpiece of Cornell's athletics facilities is the Richard and Norma Small Multi-Sport Center, housing indoor venues for competition, practice and community recreation, plus offices, locker rooms and training rooms.
